We are so excited to see the progress being made at the old Mr. Dee’s property at 701 Lafayette Boulevard! Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite’s Allison Graves helped Waldrep Properties, the owner of Mason Dixon Café, purchase the property, which has been boarded up and vacant for the last 5 years! Everyone, including the City of Fredericksburg officials, are excited to see this iconic building re-opened and thriving once more!
After extensive renovations the property will be reopening (hopefully this summer), as M*D Eats, an upscale fast food joint. The menu will feature grass-fed burgers, fresh fried fish and fried chicken sandwiches as well as some hot dogs and waffle fry nachos plus gourmet milk shakes! It will be a carry-out restaurant with some seating but no servers. Apparently, it will be a complement to the Mason Dixon Café locations on Princess Anne Street and Stafford’s Hope Rd but will be markedly different. The Owner is excited to have the opportunity to save this iconic building from demolishment and bring renewed vitality to the Lafayette Boulevard Corridor.
We can’t wait for it to be open and will be first in line for those waffle fry nachos! Congratulations to Waldrep Properties, we wish you all the best in your new venture!
